Program
We invite you to participate in the course "EXAFS for beginners". The aim of the course is to give a comprehensive introduction for tentative EXAFS spectroscopy users at MAX-lab, and to introduce the basic concepts of EXAFS spectroscopy experiment design, theory and data analysis. We intend to make it as 3x3days course (Monday lunch-Thursday lunch), with the first and third meeting, September 12-15 and October 24-27, at SLU in Uppsala, and the second meeting at MAX-lab in Lund, October 3-6, see attached preliminary schedule for details.
Registration and Workshop Fee
The workshop is free of charge.

Travel and Accommodation
For you outside Uppsala/Stockholm cheap accommodation can be found at Sunnersta Herrgård, http://www.sunnerstaherrgard.se/, which is within walking distance from SLU, ca. 1 km. The prices are: hotel standard with breakfast 650:-/person in single room, and 375:-/person in double room, and youth hostel standard without breakfast, 225:-/person (a common kitchen is available). At SLU, three lunch restaurants are within walking distance.
In Lund: 750:-/person in single room including breakfast at Hotel Sparta (close to MAX-lab) and Hotel Ahlström (city center).
Computers
Participants are expected to bring a laptop computer for the analysis exercises with the following specifications.
• Either MS Windows with X windows server package (e.g. Xming, Cygwin, Hummingbird or X-WIN32), Mac OSX, or Linux.
• EXAFSPAK installed
