There is a very rapid development of the future photon sources world-wide. A new generation of ultra-brilliant storage ring facilities are planned and several FEL facilities are operating/under construction. Electron spectroscopy is one of the most important techniques in the field of X-ray based science. To a very high degree, the development of high resolution spectrometers have contributed to many fields of research, ranging from atomic and molecular physics to ARUPS studies of highly correlated materials, HTC superconductors etc. Therefore this meeting has been initiated as a collaborative workshop between the above mentioned organizations. The workshop will be small and we invite participants who have contributed significantly to the development of high resolution photoelectron spectroscopy. We also invite commercial companies developing and marketing instruments of this kind. The aim of the meeting is to identify future research lines and possibilities for further development of high resolution electron spectroscopy for the next years. VenueThe meeting will be held at the SOLEIL synchrotron.TransportParis can be reached via TGV or by air to CDG Airport or to Orly Airport. From both these sites one takes an RER train (Line B) to the station LE GUICHET. From there we will arrange the transportation to the SOLEIL laboratory. TimeThe meeting will take place 2009 February 3-4. The meeting will start in the afternoon February 3rd and end around lunch time on February 4th. The idea is that the participants arrive in the morning February 3rd and will be able to fly back in the late afternoon February 4th.AccommodationSOLEIL Guest house or hotel near SOLEIL.CostAccomodation and meals for invited participants are paid by the organizersFor the invited academic speakers we will give a contribution of 300 Euro to the travel costs. |
