High Resolution Infrared Spectroscopy.

At the infrared beam-line (BL73) at MAX-lab a static multipass absorption cell, which can be cooled down to liguid nitrogen temperature, is interfaced with a Bruker IFS 120 HR Fourier transform IR spectrometer. The spectrometer has a maximum resolution of 0.00125 cm-1 and make use of the high-brightness source of far-infrared radiation offered from the electron storage ring MAX-I. The experimental set-up is very suitable to study the high-resolution spectra of low-frequency intermolecular vibrational modes in hydrogen-bonded molecular complexes.
