The MAX I accelerator

MAX I is a 550 MeV electron storage ring in operation since the mid eighties. It is injected from a Racetrack microtron operating at energies up to 100 MeV. MAX I has several operating modes: multibunch, single bunch and pulse strecher for nuclear physics.

MAX I is equipped with two undulators.

Here is an overview (13kB) of the Racetrack microtron and the MAX I storage ring.
