Welcome to the MAX IV Laboratory
The MAX IV Laboratory is a national laboratory operated jointly by the Swedish Research Council and Lund University.
The laboratory supports three distinct research areas: Accelerator physics,
research based on the use of synchrotron radiation and nuclear physics using
energetic electrons.

ESS, MAX IV and Lund University Start First Joint Laboratory
The European Spallation Source, MAX IV Laboratory and the Division of Nuclear Physics at Lund University start the first joint laboratory.
The new laboratory is the first step towards the building-up of joint infrastructure in the future Science City to be located between MAX IV and ESS.

Initial MAX IV beamline projects started
The initial MAX IV beamline program consists of seven beamlines with planned start of users operation in 2016. Funding for the seven beamlines has been provided by a joint effort of the Knut and Alice Wallenberg foundation (400MSEK) and twelve Swedish Universities (162MSEK).
